TAMBOPATA – CANDAMO AND MACHUPICCHU (14D/13N)
Rafting in the best of the Amazon Rainforest.Headwater of the Amazon: Tambopata Candamo Natural Reserve offers the visitors a fascinating blend of spectacular highland scenery and white water rafting in the Rainforest.  From Lima you fly to the highlands of Lake Titicaca (4000 m. a. s. l.).

You visit ancient Quechua and Aymara villages. You descend the western slopes of the Andes through Cloud forest to the Rainforest, where we launch our boats. Initially flowing with and exciting Class IV white water, upon entering the Rainforest, the rapids diminish gradually, allowing you to fully appreciate the stunning beauty of the tropical rainforest. During the descent, monkeys and birds will spy on us from their hideouts on the river banks. It’s also possible to see endangered giant otters, caimans and capybaras. Navigating on the river may even allow you to glimpse a tapir or a timid jaguar. At the end of each day on the river, there will be time to explore, observe birds, swim or simply to relax in our campsite on the river banks. On our last day in the rafts we float down the river to a rustic rainforest lodge located in the Tambopata Natural Reserve.  After an early morning visit to the famous Macaw Clay Lick we end our rainforest adventure in Puerto Maldonado.

Before returning home you fly to Cusco to visit the Inka citadel of Machu Picchu. The combination of the rainforest exotic beauty and the excitement of the river makes the trip an unforgettable experience.
