Travel Preparations

Some recommendations before joining our trips.

Prepare yourself with some physical activity like regular walks or other aerobic activity. A little time spent before you trip will help you enjoy your time here a lot more. If you intend to join one of our specific adventure trips, you should take more strenuous exercises. If you have any medical problems please consult your doctor for advice before departure and inform us. Recommended personal equipment for our adventure tours. Small daypack (necessary), backpack (optional), thermal clothes, trekking shoes, sun hat or baseball cap, sun block, sunglasses, lip protection, rain jacket, set of warm clothes (Jacket and trousers), set of light summer clothes (preferably with long sleeves), flash light, insect repellent, sleeping bag and mattress, small camping bottle for water (no glass!). We suggest you bring along your photo or video camera, specially if it is waterproof.

Acclimatization program

We want you to fully enjoy your experience without worrying about health problems caused by altitude. That’s why, unlike most tour operators, our tours start at the Sacred Valley of the Incas (altitude: 2860 m) for an easier and more effective acclimatization:

Day 1: Arrive in Lima, optional city tour (Gold Museum, Colonial Main Square, etc). Optional flight connection to Cusco.

Day 2: Flight, Lima to Cusco. Transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Overnight in Ollantaytambo.
